Energy-Saving Retroft For Copper Flotation Machines

Background:

In a copper ore processing plant, multiple flotation machines (models XCF II/KYF II-10 and XCF II/KYF II-50) were originally equipped with asynchronous motors and belt pulley transmission systems. These systems had relatively low mechanical and energy efficiency.

Before Retrofit:

Solution And After Retrofit:

  • Power consumption reduced from 75kW to 55kW
  • Operational efficiency improved from 85% to 92%
  • Transmission efficiency increased from 90% to 99%
  • Operational power dropped from 43.7kW to 35.5kW
  • Comprehensive energy saving rate exceeded 18%

Conclusion:

Comparison Before After

To improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption, we upgraded the flotation machines by replacing asynchronous motors with high-efficiency permanent magnet direct drive motors. This eliminated the need for the traditional belt pulley system, reducing mechanical losses.
