Energy-Efficient Motor Retrofit for Vacuum Melting Furnace

Background:

To address issues of high power consumption, overheating, and noise in A New Energy’s vacuum melting furnace, CIITTO SERVO implemented a motor transformation using our high-efficiency PMSM solution. The result was a significant 18.8% increase in energy efficiency.

Before Retrofit:

  • High current draw
  • Severe motor surface heating (54°C)
  • Excessive noise
  • No variable frequency functionality
  • High energy consumption
  • Output power: 10.1 kW

Solution And After Retrofit:

  • Lower current and surface temperature (41°C)
  • Reduced noise
  • Integrated variable frequency driver
  • Energy efficiency improved by 18.8%
  • Output power reduced to 8.2 kW
